2016 IN PHOTOS
I love looking back through photos from the past year. I’m often surprised by how many little things I’ve forgotten over a such a short time.
Here’s a brief recap of our year, and some my favorite photos of the past 12 months.
A frosty morning in January made for pretty pictures at the farm:
We used the long weekend in May to take our maiden voyage to the cabin:
And Juno was happy to have her personal swimming pool open again for the summer:
Juno had a big month in June. She met some new friends:
Took a nap in the sun:
And was forced to endure extra baths after discovering what a skunk is:
In July, we got some more lake time at the cabin:
And preparations started for our upcoming Chilkoot Trail hike:
August was a big month for us. We took a mini road trip through the Yukon and Alaska:
Hiked the Chilkoot Trail:
And got in a few more days at the cabin:
Only a few days into October, we got a nasty reminder of the upcoming winter:
But in November, the weather took a turn for the better and we got some beautiful days in:
After a long cold-snap in December, it warmed up enough to get outside again:
Overall, we were very fortunate this past year.
Having Mark talk me into buying a cabin, even if it is a six hour drive away, was one of the best things that could have happened (and yes, I’m documenting it here that he was right and I was wrong!). We were able to spend quite a bit of time there with family and friends. Something I hope to do a lot more of in 2017.
The trip up north and hiking the Chilkoot Trail was definitely a highlight of the year.
And, of course, Juno gave us lots of excitement and stories to tell.
Here’s hoping 2017 brings just as many great memories!
